Whew! Overkill? Perhaps, and in the interest of full disclosure, I have not upgraded to the latest model, and see no reason to do that at this time. The latest model (10-in-1, which means it does just about everything short of vacuuming the living room) is an egg-cooker, sauté pan, slow cooker, rice cooker, cake maker, yogurt maker, sterilizer, pressure cooker, food warmer, and steamer. Not quite enough room for trivet plus fingers, so I dropped it in when my fingers couldn’t reach any farther. I was a little cautious lowering the trivet and eggs into the Instant Pot, but there were no falls and no breakage. I set it on Steam and put the whole dozen in, leaving only the center spots free.
This time I didn’t set it on Manual, which at least one source recommended. I had already had some egg failures (Instant Pot learning curve) and thought, What the heck, I’ll put the whole dozen in.
